Brett Glass, who runs a small wireless company, is concerned that a particular practice by his company could spark accusations of network neutrality violations. Glass, who is slated to testify at a House Judiciary hearing on Feb 15, will testify that his company restricts residential customers from operating their own servers. In Glass's view, that's a "minor restriction." "Most Internet users would not know what a server was if it bit them, and have no problem uploading content to a Web site such as YouTube for distribution," his testimony says. Business customers can pay more to operate servers, he said. But if the FCC rules take effect, and if the FCC rules a certain way on charges against other companies, "we'll almost certainly be forced to shift everyone to the more expensive plan. We will therefore be less competitive and offer less value to consumers," Glass will testify.
