FCC's Genachowski on the Hawaii Telecom waiver Request
February 19, 2011
Federal Communications Commission Chairman Julius Genachowski responded to a letter from Sen Daniel Inouye (D-Hawaii) on Hawaii Telecom’s pending petition for waiver of high cost Universal Service Fund support rules to allow it to receive high-cost model support by averaging its line costs on a wire center-by-wire center basis, instead of a statewide basis. Chairman Genachowski said the FCC is making every effort to conclude its review of the petition as quickly as possible.
