TechAmerica hires Shawn Osborne as new CEO

TechAmerica -- a trade group that represents technology companies including Google, Microsoft, Facebook and Apple -- named Shawn Osborne as its new president and CEO. Osborne worked for 14 years as president and CEO of Ulticom, a firm that makes signaling products for telecommunications companies. He also served as chairman of the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), where he worked to shape the stimulus bill and the Federal Communications Commission's National Broadband Plan.
