Details of Mitt Romney’s big CA cash run next week

GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney will return to California— one of four states where he owns a home — to scour for campaign cash and hobnob with deep pocketed supporters and donors like San Diego Chargers owner Alex Spanos, Hewlett Packard president and CEO Meg Whitman and former Gov. Pete Wilson.

He will be joined by wife Ann Romney in Redwood City at the big fundraiser there. A look at the campaign fundraising invites shows Romney will take on an exhausting round of Golden State events to bulk up a war chest that has been depleted by expensive competitive GOP primaries battling former Penn. Senator Rick Santorum and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich And tickets to see the former Bay State governor don’t come cheap: A “host committee” or co-chair ducat will usually cost $25,000; “photo reception,” $2,500 per person and mere lunch/dinner, $1,000 per person.
