Sprint says Dish spectrum deal may be possible

Sprint Nextel could try to forge a spectrum agreement with Dish Network in the future, according to the Chief Financial Officer of the No. 3 U.S. wireless service.

This could involve Sprint buying spectrum from Dish or a so-called spectrum hosting deal in which Dish could offer wireless services using the Sprint network and Dish's spectrum, Sprint's CFO Joseph Euteneuer told investors. Dish, which is seeking regulatory approval to build a cellular network using wireless airwaves it bought for $3 billion, had previously said it would consider partnerships with wireless operators including Sprint or its rivals.
