News Corp., 21st Century Fox bulk up lobbying forces

News Corp. and 21st Century Fox are beefing up their lobbying forces. Both of the Rupert Murdoch-controlled entities have retained a team of lobbyists from the Bockorny Group, according to recent lobbying registration forms.

Martina Bradford, who formerly served as a senior adviser to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV), will be lobbying for both media companies. Bradford most recently served as deputy sergeant at arms in the Senate, and joined the Bockorny Group in April. The Washington-based firm has been hired by 21st Century Fox to lobby on communications, broadcasting, copyright, trade, telecommunications and consumer issues, according to its lobbying registration form. The entertainment company, which finalized its split from News Corp. in June, has retained six lobbyists from the firm, including its CEO, David Bockorny. Meanwhile, News Corp. has retained four lobbyists from the firm, including Bockorny, to influence lawmakers on the same issues.
