Broadcasting issues are not among Tom Wheeler's top priorities -- with one major exception. “Obviously the incentive auction is a priority; it’s a huge priority,” said the new Federal Communications Commission Chairman.

Through the incentive auction, an initiative started by Chairman Wheeler's predecessor, Julius Genachowski, the FCC hopes to reallocate a huge block of TV spectrum to wireless broadband users. Despite the importance of the proceeding, Chairman Wheeler said he is not ready to commit to a timeline for action. “I have spent more time on the incentive auction than any other single topic since coming here two weeks ago,” he said. “I am totally immersed and totally unready to make a decision like that.”
