Target to testify on data breach next month

A representative from Target, which recently suffered from a data breach putting the financial and personal information of at least 70 million customers at risk, will testify in front of the House Commerce subcommittee on trade in February, the committee announced. The hearing will also include law enforcement officials and other witnesses, the committee said. “Tens of millions of Americans have had their information compromised in recent weeks, and consumers deserve to know what information has been taken and the potential threats that exist,” subcommittee Chairman Lee Terry (R-NE) said.
