Sen Udall to FCC: Local TV Access for All

Sen Mark Udall (D-CO) urged the Federal Communications Commission to review DirecTV's ability to provide local media broadcasts in the Grand Junction-Montrose market (DMA 185), saying everyone is entitled to the crucial information provided by local TV.

"All Coloradans deserve access to the news, weather, sports and emergency information most relevant to them -- regardless of which company provides their TV service. This is especially true for the residents of the Western Slope, who have experienced landslides, wildfires and other severe weather," Sen Udall said in a letter. "The FCC should quickly study this issue and determine the feasibility of DirecTV's delivering local TV service to the residents of Grand Junction, Montrose and surrounding communities."
