Ensuring Accountability for All Agencies

The Constitution vests all executive power in the President and charges him with faithfully executing the laws.  Since it would be impossible for the President to single-handedly perform all the executive business of the Federal Government, the Constitution also provides for subordinate officers to assist the President in his executive duties.  In the exercise of their often-considerable authority, these executive branch officials remain subject to the President’s ongoing supervision and control. The President in turn is regularly elected by and accountable to the American people.

Improving Colorado’s BEAD Eligible Locations List

The Colorado Broadband Office (CBO) is seeking information from broadband providers who currently offer service to locations eligible for the BEAD (Broadband Equity, Access and Deployment) program. This information will help the CBO ensure that BEAD funding is directed to unserved and underserved areas. This notice outlines the process for demonstrating existing service and claiming locations as served, which may preclude those locations from receiving BEAD funding. For a location to be eligible for this process, it must meet both of the following criteria:

FCC Seeks Comment on WCBS News Distortion Complaint

On October 16, 2024, the Center for American Rights (CAR) filed a complaint with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) requesting an investigation into WCBS, New York, NY, for “news distortion” in the airing of a “60 Minutes” interview with then Vice President Kamala Harris. On February 3, 2025, in response to a request from the FCC’s Enforcement Bureau, the WCBS licensee provided the Commission with an unedited transcript and video of the 60 Minutes interview in question.

Senate Receives Nomination of Arielle Roth to Lead NTIA

On February 3, 2025, the nomination of  Arielle Roth, of the District of Columbia, to be Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Communications and Information (vice Alan Davidson, resigned) was received in the Senate and referred to the Committee on Commerce.

National Verifier Annual Report and Data

This annual report provides a summary of the National Verifier and its functionality, and it outlines how the National Verifier meets the Federal Communications Commission's key objectives: to protect against waste, fraud, and abuse; to lower costs to the Universal Service Fund (Fund) and service providers through administrative efficiencies; and to better serve eligible beneficiaries by facilitating choice and improving the enrollment experience. This report also provides an update on the use and performance of the National Verifier, including a discussion of system enhancements.
