FCC Expands List of Communications Equipment and Services That Pose a Threat to National Security
The Federal Communications Commission lists Pacific Network Corp. and its wholly-owned subsidiary ComNet (USA) LLC and China Unicom (Americas) Operations Limited on its list of communications equipment and services that have been deemed a threat to national security. The actions implement recommendations in letters filed by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) on behalf of Executive Branch interagency bodies.
FCC Renews Charter of the Consumer Advisory Committee
The Federal Communications Commission announced that the charter of the Consumer Advisory Committee will be renewed for a two-year period pursuant to the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA) and following consultation with the Committee Management Secretariat of the General Services Administration. In keeping with its advisory role, the FCC Consumer Advisory Committee will continue to provide recommendations to the FCC on consumer topics, as specified by the agency, gather data and information, and perform analyses that are necessary to respond to the questions or matters before it.

FCC Announces Winning Bidders of 2.5 GHz Band Auction
The Federal Communications Commission announced winning bidders in the 2.5 GHz band auction (Auction 108). In total, 7,872 of the 8,017 offered county-based licenses, or 98 percent of the total inventory, have been sold. With most of the available spectrum in the 2.5 GHz band located in rural areas, this auction provides vital spectrum resources to support wireless services in rural communities.
FCC Directs USAC To Fully Fund Eligible E-Rate Requests
The Federal Communications Commission's Wireline Competition Bureau announced that there is sufficient funding available to fully meet the Universal Service Administrative Company’s (USAC) estimated demand for category one and two requests for E-Rate supported services for funding year 2022. USAC estimates the total demand for funding year 2022 will be $3.15 billion, which includes $1.64 billion for category one services and $1.51 billion for category two services.
