How to Keep Americans Connected During the Crisis

Public Knowledge

Thursday, March 26, 2020 - 4:00pm to 5:00pm

As Americans adopt social distancing, shifting to telework, online courses, and even video doctor visits, our nation must adapt. We need to enhance our telecommunications services through smart policy changes, many of which should stay in place after things return to “normal."

Join us for a webinar discussion about specific regulatory and legislative solutions the FCC and Congress should consider to help America overcome this new challenge. Conversation topics will include ways to subsidize broadband for the American public using existing legal authority, policy options for expanding broadband access to students and others who need it, and legislative fixes to ensure that broadband connections are fast and reliable enough to meet the realities of staying home during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Speakers:

Harold Feld, Senior Vice President, Public Knowledge

Jon Sallet, Senior Fellow, Benton Institute for Broadband and Society

John Windhausen, Executive Director, Schools, Health, & Libraries Broadband Coalition
