Analyzing the size and scope of Trump's tariffs
Before so-called "Liberation Day" on April 2, when President Trump announced sweeping tariffs, PwC issued an initial estimation that tariff costs for the technology, media and telecommunications sector could rise from $13 billion to $139 billion. Now that much more is known about the size and scope of those tariffs, which include a 10 percent baseline tariff on all goods coming to the US and higher tariffs on products from specific countries and regions such as China and the European Union, those estimates are now expected to go even higher. But it's not yet not clear precisely how much higher they will go as tariff-related negotiations between the US and others countries continue, says Dallas Dolen, the executive in charge of PwC's technology, media and telecommunications program.
