Spectrum Launches Gigabit Broadband, Mobile, TV and Voice Services in Johnson County, Missouri

Spectrum announced the launch of Spectrum Internet, Mobile, TV and Voice services to more than 140 homes and small businesses in the Pittsville (MO) area. Spectrum’s newly constructed fiber-optic network buildout in Johnson County (MO) is part of the company’s approximately $5 billion investment in unserved rural communities, which includes $1.2 billion won in the Federal Communications Commission’s Rural Digital Opportunity Fund (RDOF) auction.

Charter Announces $30 Million Spectrum Community Assist Initiative

Charter Communications announced the launch of Spectrum Community Assist, a $30 million, five-year philanthropic initiative to revitalize community centers in rural and urban areas and invest in job training programs in underserved communities across the company’s 41-state footprint. Through Spectrum Community Assist, Charter will partner with national and local nonprofit organizations to identify and improve centers in need of support.

Cleveland Schools Deploy the Stay Connected Program to Close the Homework Gap

With many school districts continuing to look for ways to help students who don’t have robust internet service at home maximize their learning potential, Charter Communications announced that the Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) is deploying the Spectrum Enterprise Stay Connected K-12 solution as a multi-year solution.

Charter adds 537,000 broadband subscribers

Charter Communications reported financial and operating results for the three and nine months ended September 30, 2020. Total residential and small and medium business (SMB) Internet customers increased by 537,000, compared to 380,000 during the third quarter of 2019. Over the last 12 months, total Internet customers grew by 2.3 million, or 8.8%, to 28.6 million. Charter added 494,000 residential Internet customers in the third quarter of 2020, versus third quarter 2019 residential Internet customer net additions of 351,000.
