Verizon announces partnership with Detroit NAACP to advance digital equity
Verizon announced a $100,000 award to the Detroit Branch NAACP for the Digital Education, Training, and Access (E.T.A.) program. The partnership is part of the Verizon Forward Community Enhancement Award, a $1 million national initiative equipping communities with the tools to navigate an increasingly technological world. The Detroit Branch NAACP will partner with local organizations to provide technology-focused training to seniors and formerly incarcerated community members.

Verizon Communications reported third-quarter results and raised its free cash flow guidance for 2023. The company's performance was highlighted by continued wireless service revenue growth, total broadband net additions, and improving profitability. Total broadband net additions of 434,000, representing the fourth consecutive quarter that Verizon reported more than 400,000 broadband net additions. Total broadband net additions included 384,000 fixed wireless net additions, an increase of 42,000 fixed wireless net additions from third-quarter 2022.

Verizon released its third-quarter earnings and subscriber numbers for 2023. The company ended the quarter with approximately 10.3 million broadband subscribers, an increase of nearly 21 percent year over year. Total broadband net additions were 434,000, representing the fourth consecutive quarter that Verizon reported more than 400,000 broadband net additions. Total broadband net additions included 384,000 fixed wireless net additions, an increase of 42,000 fixed wireless net additions from third-quarter 2022. Verizon now has nearly 2.7 million subscribers on its fixed wireless service.

Verizon reported second-quarter (Q2) results highlighted by wireless service revenue growth, increased cash flow from operations and strong momentum heading into the second half of the year. Verizon has seen the following broadband developments in Q2:
Verizon begins 2023 with rapid network expansion and the most broadband additions in over a decade
Verizon Communications reported first-quarter results, highlighted by increased cash flow and the largest number of total broadband net additions in more than a decade. Verizon saw a total broadband net addition of 437,000, reflecting strong demand for fixed wireless and Fios products. This result included 393,000 fixed wireless net additions, an increase from 379,000 fixed wireless net additions in the fourth quarter of 2022.

Verizon expands high-speed internet across Maryland with American Rescue Plan Act funding
Verizon is bringing internet to Maryland residents as it deploys high-speed, fiber optic broadband internet service across the state. Nearly 4,000 new households and businesses in Charles, Garrett, Cecil, Howard, St. Mary’s and Washington County will have access to Verizon’s Fios network as part of one of the biggest upgrades in our history.
