The US Department of Agriculture is hosting a listening session to solicit ideas on ways to help expand broadband access in tribal communities under the Reconnect Program.

USDA is inviting comments and recommendations from tribal communities and tribal broadband industry experts on a ReConnect Program final rule originally published on Feb. 26, 2021. The final rule will:

The hearing will address the Federal Trade Commission’s endangered consumer redress authority; the FTC’s efforts to fight fraud during the pandemic, including its new first-time civil penalty authority for COVID-related scams; and the FTC’s tools and capabilities in the information age, including $30.4 million in funding for consumer protection matters that Congress provided in the American Rescue Plan Act.
